Events
The NACC is home to a vibrant calendar of annual events that bring students, faculty, staff, and New Haven community members together. From large-scale gatherings like Powwow, Pasifika Fest, Indigenous Arts Night, and our Stoling Celebration to cozy traditions like our Welcome Back Potlucks, Holiday Party, and Fall Feast, the NACC is always filled with food, laughter, and friends. We host speaker series, comedy nights, Orange Shirt Day programming, and hands-on workshops like drum making, pottery, and beading. Peer Liaisons (PLs) and House Staff further enrich community life with weekly events like Baking and Bonding nights where upper-level student mentors (“PLs”) connect with their first-year students over baking sweet treats, movie and sports watch parties, karaoke, craft nights, and more.
Each fall break, students also have the opportunity to take a fully-funded trip to Washington, D.C., to learn about Indian law, federal policy, and advocacy, while dedicated graduate student programming ensures that the NACC remains a welcoming and enriching space for all levels of the Yale community. For our graduating seniors, the NACC Grad Talk tradition offers a reflective space to share their journeys and celebrate their accomplishments with those who’ve defined their time at Yale. Whether it’s a night of Dean Matthew Makomenaw belting karaoke or gathering for a Corn Ceremony and Planting, there’s always something happening at the NACC.
